Syncthing on Ubuntu Server 24.04

I would really appreciate some troubleshooting tips for the errors shown in my screenshot:

I am following the instructions to install Syncthing by this site.

I require the configuration files listed in the screenshot, but for some reason it refuses to download them even though it recognizes exactly what files I require. I made the directories that the various application files should land in, and I have not misspelled anything (as the tip suggests).

The point before this error came after I typed:

echo "deb https://apt.syncthing.net/ syncthing release" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/syncthing.list

The Syncthing --version is correct, but nothing works because I am missing all the configuration files…
Thank you for reading and I would enjoy all advice!

Looking at the bottom of the screenshot, it looks like you need to apply some updates:

sudo apt upgrade

Try that and then re-install syncthing.

Hopefully that will help resolve the issue.

I have done this four times across two reboots. The exact error messages persist but I just happened to take the photo at this stage.

I guess that would have been too easy.

It could be some missing base package, but from the screenshot I cannot tell with package files come from. I don’t use Ubuntu, so I’m not as familiar with their packages.

Good luck, I hope you get this sorted quickly.

I can say that I use syncthing and I am very happy with it.
