I just watched Jay’s Proxmox VE - How to build an Ubuntu 22.04 template (updated method), only I used AlmaLinux 9.5.

I cloned the template and started the VM, but when I switched to the console I only see “starting serial terminal on interface serial0” and that’s it. No way to log in.

Any ideas on how to get a login prompt?

During the configuration of your VM template did you use the command below to set the serial console?

qm set <VM ID> --serial0 socket --vga serial0

When you have the serial console up and the message “starting serial terminal on interface serial0” appears have you tried pressing the enter/return key on your keyboard?
