Mid 2011 iMac 12,1 fusion drive

Before I spend a lot of time, is there any help here for me? Just trying to get either MX Fluxbox or AntiX to install. Correctly.

Could you provide some more details on the iMac? What size are the drives? How well does macOS run on the iMac? Any error messages or log files you can provide? I’ve install Ubuntu 22.04 on a 2011 MacMini and had some troubles but was able to work through it.

@cwest Firstly, Thank you for your response! That alone is a step further than some other forums I won’t mention here.
iMac: 1Tb HDD, 254Mb SSD
I haven’t run MacOS for about 2 years, But prior ran High Sierra 10.13.4 I believe. It ran ok, but not securely and at that time became problematic to run system apps etc. The machine itself is and has been a beast and since leaving the bad apple, I used Zoron, Mint Cinn, MX KDE plasma. I thought the KDE would help with ability to better recognize my also older perifiles ( Audio interface, external DVD writer/player- Internal Superdrive died out.) I also have used a Samsung T7 1Tb to keep my basically home folder stuff and a ton of media on, it’s almost full.
I believe I have cleared my internals now, and now running off a live usb of MX.
I can access logs and have had some errors to likely due to improper configuration.
I think its a fusion issue and need to make sure both drives are always mounted upon boot.

Which log files would best help? I will send a general “about this machine” for now. Thanks again!!!

@CurlyStooge No worries. So is it safe to say you tried to install on the 1TB HDD? The output says that 5.45GiB (0.4%) is currently being used. I see nothing being stored for the 256GB SSD.

With these “fusion drives” on Macs did you “de-couple” the two drives before installation?
Here is a good walkthrough on how to do it - https://medium.com/@shrey3432/breaking-apples-fusion-drive-8ff8ded97396

Do you still have a macOS USB installer?
