How to Troubleshoot Network Connectivity Issues in Linux?

Hello everyone,

I have recently set up a Linux machine for work and I am encountering some issues with network connectivity. Initially, everything seemed to be working fine, but after a recent update, I am having trouble maintaining a stable connection. It seems to drop intermittently, especially when trying to access certain websites or network services.

I have tried a few basic troubleshooting steps like restarting the network service and checking if the cables are properly connected but nothing seems to have fixed the issue. I have also checked the router and other devices connected to the network are working fine. This leads me to believe the problem might be specific to my Linux setup.

Could anyone provide some guidance on how to troubleshoot network issues in Linux? Are there specific logs or commands I should check to identify the root cause? Also, if this issue is related to recent updates or drivers, I’d appreciate any advice on how to roll back or fix them. I’ve used tools like ifconfig, ping, and netstat to gather some basic information, but I’m not sure what’s relevant for diagnosing this particular problem.

I also check this: https://community.learnlinux.tv/t/issue-trying-to-ssh-into-an-sbc-from-ferenos-linux-mainawscertification But I have not found any solution. Could anyone guide me about this? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your time!

Respected community member!

search the net for things like “linux connection troubleshooting” and maybe include in that keywords like the distro you are using, the hardware you are using, wifi or ethernet (whichever applies), keywords regarding the specific upgrade that changed things, etc. giving valuable help is going to require some more specifics!
