Convert Win10 Physical to Virtual Machine

Hello All,

I’m preparing to re-build my current workstation (Win10 - Ubuntu Dual Boot) and I’d like to keep my Win10 image in a VM (either Virtual-box or Proxmox VM, doesn’t matter which) for a while in case I’ve missed something during file backup or whatever.

I was wondering if anyone has done this, particularly with a UEFI Dual boot setup ?

I found an How-To for Virtual Box : Migrate existing Windows installation to VirtualBox

Here’s another potential guide. This one seems a bit better : How to Convert Physical Windows Computer into a VirtualBox Image

This is my preferred approach, given it’s using Proxmox, but it’s old.

May give this a go and see how it turns out.

Ok, I’ve thrown in the towel. It’s not worth it. I can re-install Win10 easier than messing around with VDH images.

It’s Pop!_OS time. See ya on the other side.
