23.10 and NTFS support

I have an external NTFS drive, and with the Default install, and NOT ticking the 2 choices below that, I did not get support for NTFS.
I chose to reinstall, and chose the FULL install and ticked the 2 choices.
That gave me support for NTFS.
Can anyone tell me which of those choices alone would install support for NTFS?

Install ntfs-3g?

sudo apt update
sudo apt install ntfs-3g

I found that ticking the bottom option on the install type screen is the key.
“Download and install support for additional media formats.”
