Did you follow NordVPN’s guide?

[https://support.nordvpn.com/Connectivity/Linux/1325531132/Installing-and-using-NordVPN-on-Debian-Ubuntu-Raspberry-Pi-Elementary-OS-and-Linux-Mint.htm](https://support.nordvpn.com/Connectivity/Linux/1325531132/Installing-and-using-NordVPN-on-Debian-Ubuntu-Raspberry-Pi-Elementary-OS-and-Linux-Mint.htm)

I don’t think I could do a better job of explaining it?

I do it by going to [Get the Best VPN Server List for Your Location in 2021 | NordVPN](https://nordvpn.com/servers/) pick the ovpn file (for your vpn location) and go to network system settings then choose import a vpn configuration, select the downloaded file, the the usual username and password.

You are sorely mistaken sir. You need to install 2 packages first.

sudo apt install openvpn network-manager-openvpn

Nordvpn has a Linux app which works with the packages you mentioned.
But they also have ovpn files for all their locations which you can download and use in NetworkManager.
These are 2 different ways of using Nordvpn.
